Researchers at Liverpool University (ISSN 1097-9751 Volume 7 number 3 June 2024 - JEP Online) analysed decades worth of research that compares the results of various resistance training programmes.
They found the overwhelming amount of evidence points out that one set of an exercise is just as, and in some cases more effective than multiple sets of the same exercise.
If one set of squats is as effective as two sets…why do more?
Furthermore their study showed that one exercise session per week has been shown to be just as productive as 3!
