One session per week (one hour sessions only) is best suited to individuals that are self motivated to apply what is learned in the one session to at least one other session performed on their own each week. Or those just looking to slow the turn of time with some smart strength maintaining workouts.
Two per week for the more serious about their health, looking for more noticeable changes in energy and functional ability. Twice per week has been by far the more popular and affordable membership over the years. It offers the in-between compromise between money, time and results.
Three per week causes dramatic changes in looks, confidence, ability, health and attitude. Exercise is medicine, a profoundly useful one that has such broad reaching and positive effects that it is hard to list them all. When applied correctly in frequent doses you can become a truly impressive human with go anywhere do anything abilities. Three per week gives you the foundational base of a physically and mentally resilient human!
Most of my client sessions are 30 minutes in duration. This is perfect for the most common goal of G.P.P. (see below). Experience over the last 20 years and scientific research both show the overwhelming majority of our results come from intensity first and accumulated volume second.
If however your goal is more specific: bodybuilding, power lifting, endurance specific events for example then it is usually more beneficial to use the one hour sessions.
The workouts are comprised of the most profoundly effective and functionally relevant movement patterns to stimulate positive adaptations in your body from strength, power, aesthetics, agility and confidence.
G.P.P. means General Physical Preparation. In short, G.P.P. builds a broad base of essential physical and mental capabilities. Every human on earth benefits from expanding this base to a level where jumping, lifting objects, controlling your body and being comfortable with the pain of endurance become as natural as walking.
I don't believe in wasting your time with prolonged warm ups, irrelevant stretching or mobility "filler" periods in most hourly session performed elsewhere. Exercises chosen correctly and performed correctly demand functional flexibility and mobility contained within themselves as part of the movement.
Fitness...just faster than the rest.

One hour vs 30 minute sessions? This one is simple;
If you are simply looking for health, general fitness and all round increases in your physical abilities (G.P.P. General Physical Preparation) then the 30 minute sessions are perfect.
Great for those that may not love exercise itself but want the benefits it provides then the 30 minute sessions are over and done with quickly and stimulate all the health benefits exercise can provide. 90% of my clients are on the 30 minute memberships.
The one hour sessions are usually for one of three types of people:
- Those that can only make one PT session per week
- Those that are self motivated enough to train on their own outside of PT but just want a little help along the way
- The lifestylers among us that LOVE exercise, LOVE being stronger, fitter, faster, more agile and looking great, want all the health benefits of exercise but want to look amazing and have higher levels of skills in specific movements too.
One hour is great for those of us that want that amazing looking body building/cover model physique that other people admire!
Bottom line: health and G.P.P is achieved simply with 30 minute session. Looking great naked and being a functional bad ass is a job for the one hour sessions.
Functional abilities will change from the very first session and continue to manifest going forward. Your fitness and vigor will increase immediately and in relation to training frequency and nutrition! Visible changes in your body can take up to a month to show through and are largely diet dependant.
Remember: our results are stimulated by what we do in the gym, they are physically allowed to happen due to the diet you follow: if you eat poorly then your results will be limited. If you eat whole foods full of nutrients appropriate to your goals, in the correct quantities then your results will be immeasurably superior to those with poor non supportive diets.
It can't be overstated just how important, no, essential, a supporting diet is to your results. The diet you follow is simply another way of saying the food you eat, some diets are weight loss, some are weight gain. All can be very simple at their core so don't be daunted by food.
